  1. Once I have chosen one of Serenity's facilities, what is the next step?
Please notify us and we will advise of room availability or place you on a waiting list. After pre-arranging with the family, our director or our registered nurse will visit the resident in either the hospital or their own home and conduct an assessment. This assessment is used to determine medical requirements and state of functionality. Careful attention is taken to collect information about the resident that will make transition to our facility as comfortable and smooth as possible. Personal preferences and daily routines are respected as much as possible so that the resident will feel that our home is their home.
  1. Are residents able to stay through the end-of-life stages?

Through compassionate staff involvement and our medical personnel, we are able to provide palliative care for our residents so they may remain within the environment they have grown comfortable in and familiar with. We consider this our last gift to those who have become like members of our family.

  1. What types of daily services provided to each resident?

Our full service plan provides residents with every comfort and it is our attention to these details that has solidified our reputation. Whether it is the morning paper and a coffee delivered to the room each morning or a tub bath every day, making our residents feel at home is our number one priority.

In addition to our high standard of personal hygiene, bedrooms are cleaned daily, bathrooms at least twice daily or as needed, linens are cleaned regularly and beds well made, fresh towels and face cloths are placed in the room twice daily, laundry is cleaned regularly and returned promptly. See our services section for more information (link).

  1. Can special arrangements be made to celebrate holidays and events with families?

Our resident's family is very important to us as well. With advance notice, The Briarlea can provide a separate room and catering should you wish to host a family event in our home. With our various living spaces and spacious dining room, we can accommodate up to 25 persons.
