Residents at our two facilities are assessed regularly during
wellness visits by our part-time Registered Nurse, Susan Wilson,
who also remains on call for our residents' needs.
Briarlea's service providers are Dr. Greg Donald, and
pharmacist, John
Staples. Our residents have the option to
receive professional in-house medical care from Dr. Donald if
they choose to enjoy the benefits of his bi-weekly visits.
Receiving physician attention on a regular basis helps us
achieve a better continuity of care and often means fewer
requirements for hospital services.
Alternatively, staff will ensure residents are driven and
accompanied to their family doctor for scheduled appointments.
(Note: There is an additional charge for such transportation and
if using Dr. Donald's services, there is a small fee charged through
his office.)
Miscellaneous Medical Services
- Medication administration or supervision
- Assistance with personal care and hygiene
- Ambulance transport to hospital when required
- Flu shots
- Podiatry and routine foot care

"We ask a lot of questions - what their typical day is
like, their routines, and things they like to do. Then we try to
maintain as much of that as possible. These details also help
our staff get to know the resident before they move in."

Dixson, Director
