Transition to Assisted Living

Elsie's RoomMoving to a congregate setting is often an overwhelming and emotional transition for seniors. In many cases, they are leaving behind cherished possessions or homes where they raised their families and created memories. We offer assistance to make this change easier and will be there to assist family members in coordinating every step of the move.

During initial health and function assessments prior to the resident's move to one of our facilities, medical and dietary information is gathered as well as personal preferences. Special care can then be taken to ensure it is as comfortable and smooth as possible by mimicking the lifestyle patterns and routines clients are familiar with.

Staff make every effort to link the individual's care plan with lifestyle preferences associated with appearance, routines, music, hobbies, or spirituality.

Residents continue to enjoy their special hobbies - like painting

"We ask a lot of questions - what their typical day is like, their routines, and things they like to do. Then we try to maintain as much of that as possible. These details also help our staff get to know the resident before they move in."

"I enjoy my home at Briarlea.  It is very clean and new.  The staff are good and always willing to help.  They look after my needs very well.  I look forward to seeing them come to work and my visits with them."
